Most of doors in hospital without locks,however, some type of doors also with locks or with electric locks. On psychiatric units they are always active controlled by employee keycards usually. Otherwise the locks only come into use during a fire alarm. When a fire alarm sounds all doors shut locking people in units, hallways, waiting rooms everywhere so that wherever the fire may be it will not spread throughout the hospital. Only the stairwells remain unlocked.
