Why do revolving doors run Counterclockwise ?
Because most people are right handed and feel comfortable going to their right. In America and most of other countries, people drive on the right side of the road reenforcing the comfort of going right. If you think of the revolving door as two single doors, an in and an out, then people gravitate to the right hand side for entry. Upon exiting, you gravitate to the right hand side. So spinning anti-clockwise makes sense.
In fact, the revolving door don't always go counterclockwise. Theoretically they can turn either way. It depends how they are pushed. If they are set to turn only one way (like the exit turnstile at a train station, for instance) they could be set to turn clockwise too.
