The Differences Between Hospital Door and Normal Doors
With the continuous improvement of health and medical standards, medical equipment is also constantly improving and upgrading, hospital door is one of them. Do you know the big differences between hospital sliding door and normal doors? The part below will give you the answers.
1. Airtight /Hermetic Feature
Take hospital hermetic door as an example, one of the most important features is hermetic , that means the door have to prevent indoor and outdoor air ventilation, then to keep the indoor air pressure at a reasonable value, and to stop the outdoor bacteria flowing into the room, make sure the patient in the room is safe and not be infected. It’s the most important standard for hospital hermetic door. However, there is no need for normal doors to possess this feature. So, firstly, the design idea is totally different for hospital door and other normal doors.
2. Door Materials
The normal doors use the normal materials for door body, like particleboard, sandwich board, wood grain board etc. but to the hospital door, with the purpose about fire prevention, antibacterial, acid-proof, green environmental protection, they have to use the special material for door body, and the most popular material is so called polyurethane foaming board which made the weight of the door much smaller, and improves the sound insulation, thermal insulation, dustproof, fireproof etc.
3. Operation Methods
To the hospital doors, considering the importance of antibacterial, the non-touch operation is necessary, if the doctor or nurse want to open the door, they just come toward the door and make their foot or hand close the foot sensor or hand induction switch will be ok, then the door will be open automatically. To the normal doors, the non-touch operation is not mandatory.
4. Anti-radiation Function
To the hospital doors, they will be installed in CT room or similar rooms sometimes which need the radiography, considering X-ray is harmful to our body, some materials will be necessary to the protective purpose, and lead plate and lead glass are the ideal ones. The lead plate and lead glass will be assembled in the door body, then the hermetic doors will possess the features of both hermetic and X-ray protection/Anti-radiation. To the normal doors, the biggest function is to insulate the space of inner and outer of the room, no need to add the X-ray protection or Anti-radiation function .
▪ The Specific Requirements For Hospital Doors
1. The connection interface for backup battery must be available to avoid the sudden power failure.
2. The function for door close delay is necessary, to avoid the hurt to person when door close quickly.
3. Non-touch /Non-contact proximity sensor is necessary, such as foot sensor or hand induction switch, to avoid the bacteria infected.
4. Anti-squeeze function is necessary, the photocell must be the standard parts for the hospital doors. To some important hospital projects, 2 pair or more photocells are needed.
5. The motor &gearbox must be special, minimize the noise to meet the requirements of clean room noise.
6. To the door body surface, it must be anti-bacteria, and easy to clean, the most ideal material are electrolytic steel plate, stainless steel plate, HPL plate. About the inner part of the door body, the polyurethane foaming board with honeycomb structure are most popular.
7. The airtight/hermetic function is necessary. Base on this function, the standard for sealing rubber is much higher, they must be pliable, which means they have to be bent or deform easily but difficult to break, and also with longer life .
